Most important was that this ultimate Martial art would need no additions of
techniques from other styles or types of Martial Arts. He has found this in
the Doce Pares Multi-Style System. This system
contains all facets from unarmed to armed combat. Adding to this is the fact
that it also contains both standing and ground fighting. After
his first visit to the Philippines
he has traveled back and forth to the birthplace of Doce
Pares Multi-Style System for the next ten years, this with an average frequency
of two to three visits per year and the longest period being three months. On
each of these occasions he did not only train with different masters and
grandmasters of the Doce Pares Multi-Style System,
but he
also invested in the local community as he imported Filipino
Martial Arts equipment to the Netherlands.
In these years he has gained significant first hand
experience in the Filipino culture which helped him
to get a better insight, understanding and appreciation both cultural aspects and of
course Eskrima itself.
His humble gratitude goes to all people he met and started
long-term relations with, during his multiple visits to the Philippines.
These people are the real masters of the Filipino
Martial Arts to which he owes the privilege in training with them and acquiring
their knowledge, not only in the Doce Pares Multi-Style System but also other
Filipino Martial Arts.

The training methodology I use for the Doce Pares Eskrima system is its original form, the exact way it is taught in the Philippines.
Whoever decides to train in my garden gym
needs to be aware of the fact that we train with high intensity and have the
goal to educate each individual to become a Black Belt Doce
Pares Eskrimador.
In order to start you education to become
a Black Belt Doce Pares Eskrimador
you will need to meet certain criteria:
- willingness to train
hard
- show respect for the Filipino culture
- have respect for everybody, including the people you train with
- be sincere and honest
